China's Premier Visit

I saw China's Premier, Wen Jiabao in person just now :O I was like waaa~ I'm seeing a foreign political leader in the flesh with my own two eyes... O_O It was an amazing feat. I never knew I would live to see this XD Local leaders were also present, the Minister of Higher Education (if I'm not mistaken) and etc but I saw them quite often, hence they didn't give me the "waa~" vibe anymore.

Anyway, to attend the event, one must wear a formal or cultural attire; I opted for formal office wear. Before entering, all students must show their student's ID. Something funny happened at the check point though. There was this girl in front of me. She showed her ID to a lady officer and after examining her photo, the officer exclaimed, "this is not you." LOL. The girl panicked and try to prove her identity~ I got checked by another officer and permitted to enter the hall earlier so I didn't know what happened to her...

After about 30 minutes, Wen Jiabao arrived and he was presented with some Malaysian cultural dances. Later on, he gave his speech ad that was it.

Oh yeah, there were also some incidents happened before Wen Jiabao arrival. Around 15 people were arrested because they were about to protest demanding the release of some human rights activists in China. Another incident or controversy was surrounding the campus authorities' decision to have pre-arranged questions for Wen Jiabao during the Q & A session. This was questioned by UM's student body.

Anyway, enough with that. Let us all buy fried catfish and Lipton Ice Lemon tea for lunch :D

p/s: This was a historic event and guess what? I forgot to bring my camera D:
